Experience
Wapiti Energy, LLC - Uintah Basin Asset Manager - 2018 - Present
Directly accountable for the safe and profitable management of natural gas operations with a focus on leveraging data and analytics to relentlessly drive down unit costs while maximizing total field production
- Manage a technical staff of 2 IT professionals and 12 field based employees
- Conduct annual performance based reviews of team members, providing technical training and mentorship as needed
- Fully-architect an ELT data pipeline, centralizing various streams of raw data into a single source of certified data in Snowflake for downstream consumption via reports and BI analytics
- Automated 30+ internal, external, state and federal reporting with documented SQL transformation on Snowflake
- Experience with the nuts and bolts of both legacy Cygnet applications and SAAS based scada providers, building fit for purpose plunger lift, compression, and gas treatment dashboards
- Identified break-even project economics thresholds for production optimization and cost reduction initiatives including 20-30 annual workovers with 95% success rate, well utility conversions from T&A to injection saving $1.50 / bw produced, and rent vs. buy analysis of compression, trucking, and other facility improvements
- Championed internal communication and collaboration with Microsoft Teams with overwhelmingly positive feedback from office and field personnel
- Led the data migration plan and execution from on-prem legacy file storage to streamlined, refined, and more secure Sharepoint based office workflow leveraging subject matter knowledge to tailor the architecture based on assets and functions
- Plan and participate in in-depth and advance field studies including Green River waterflooding, behind pipe stimulations, and Mancos shale exploration with many projects ready to implement when prices allow
- Overall, driven by formalizing business process and objectives by setting KPIs and OKR, measuring results, providing feedback, and repeating the process for continuous improvement
SilverBow Resources - Resource Development Manager - 2011 - 2018
Roles of progressively increased responsibility culminating as the lead technical expert in an international joint venture (PT Saka Energi Indonesia) directly responsible for type- curve generation, development planning, and managing partner relations on a prolific gas field in the Eagle Ford shale
- Perform all traditional reservoir and production engineering duties aimed to maximize the profitability and value of a prolific gas field in the Eagle Ford shale
- Coordinate integrated team of landmen, regulatory staff, geologists, facilities, drilling, and completions engineers as Project Lead on all major area projects
- Develop concepts and promote fit-for-purpose technology and science for major projects including: advanced wireline logging, mud logging, mini-fracs, tracers, microseismic, and well test procedures
- Create analytical models of all horizontal multi-fractured wells with probabilistic forecast generation based on linear flow analysis and type curves (IHS Harmony)
- Develop and recommend development plans and work programs based on economic modeling of field rate, gas processing options, and transportation contracts (Enersight)
- Justify year-end SEC reserves bookings and reporting (Aries)
- Optimize gas field performance with nodal analysis and integrated asset modeling using an integrated software package that couples the subsurface and gathering system models
- Proved and defended the use of advanced rate-transient analysis modeling techniques resulting in a 20% increase in reserve bookings for assigned field
- Built an integrated asset model then optimized compression timing and line looping that will result in an additional NPV10 of $5MM versus the original design concept
- Developed a lease operating expense forecasting methodology for both budget year and long-term development scenarios that became the corporate template
- Designed and executed several company firsts in the Eagle Ford: horizontal refrac, horizontal production log, cap string foam, and pacemaker plunger lift
FTS International - District Engineering Manager - 2008 - 2011
Boots on the ground field experience at the height of the shale gas boom
- Hire, train, and supervise a staff of 28 field engineers, fluid techs, and lab techs
- Design, supervise, and interpret pre-frac diagnostics, DFITS, and Step Rate Tests using commercial software
- Perform and approve QA/QC of all proppant and fluid systems in the lab and field
- Gained on-site experience on 1000+ frac stages in the Haynesville, Eagle Ford, Fayetteville, and Marcellus
